My dear brothers and sisters, so many wonderful things are ahead

What was emphasized in the 192nd Semi-Annual Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? The most important messages are the ones that impact you individually. But if you want to take a numeric approach to emphasis, this is the article and infographic for you.

Some of the words emphasized included wedding & king (thank you, Elder Bednar), Russell & Nelson (for more on this see October 2021), covenant & path (see April 2022 for more on covenant path).

Several words lend themselves to the challenges of daily life, including: challenges, difficult, circumstances. Some words demonstrate the need for love and forgiveness, including: healing, forgive, charity, willing, grow, dear, brothers. Others focus on drawing near to God: covenant, path, disciples, Savior’s, focus, king.

Perhaps those words of emphasis can be summed up this quote from President Nelson:

You may have had days when you wished you could don your pajamas, curl up in a ball, and ask someone to awaken you when the turmoil is over.

But, my dear brothers and sisters, so many wonderful things are ahead. In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen.

I also had an interest in seeing how the phrase “Gathering of Israel” or “Gathering Israel” was used over time, and who used the phrase. This has clearly been a focus and emphasis of President Nelson. If you’re interested in the spike in reference in 1977 see this talk by Elder McConkie.

Elder Rasband’s talk got me thinking about which speakers have emphasized the Book of Mormon. President Benson holds the record, but interestingly, President Nelson and President Oaks are next up.
